The "CONDITION" variable in P1F Any cross-tabulation problem requires you to specify ROW and COLumn variables. These two specifications are sufficient to analyze the relation- ships among those variables. However, sometimes you may want a "cross section" of the data, to see what relationships exist at each level of a third variable. An example is the use of income categories to examine the relation between education and self-image at each income level. Or, we could examine the relation between education and self-image for each sex classification. Both income and sex could be specified as "condition" or "level" variables for these cross-sections of the results. Using sample data, try the use of sex membership as a third variable to see its effect upon the results. If you don't want this option, just use the RETURN key alone.
