Enter "DIR" for a directory of files. $ Enter VALDOCS "X:FILENAME.EXT" :> $ Enter OUTPUT "X:FILENAME.EXT" :> $ DEVAL allows VALDOCS data files to be used by programs that may be incompatable with the control codes used by VALDOCS. This is accomplished by processing a VALDOCS file and removing the formating control codes and sequences. The output of DEVAL is a file containg only printable ASCII characters with the MSB off in all cases. When prompted, enter the name of the VALDOCS file you wish to process. Then, when prompted, enter the name of the file to be used for OUTPUT. The format is "X:FILENAME.EXT" where "X" is an optional drive specifier. The current drive is indicated by the "D" in "D:>". Typing a "?" at either prompt displays this help message. Typing "DIR" at either prompt displays a directory of each drive. (Only ".VAL" files are displayed, if present, at the VALDOCS prompt.) During the time the program is working you will see the words "I am working as fast as I can..." flash in the middle of the screen. The program will return to CP/M when finished. See DEVAL.DOC for more information. $ There is no more room in the directory. $ There is no more room on the disk for storage...aborting.$ There is no file by that name, try again...$ That file already exists.
