If you are interested in obtaining a copy to Heavy Metal, you may contact them by voice at (415) 965-4090 or by modem at (415) 965-4097. This system supports both 300 and 1200 baud. If you want to download from this system, you must also use the MODEM protocol. This is 8 bit, no parity. As always, this system will operate 24 hours per day, except for maintainence time which we try to restrict to daylight hours, Monday to Friday. Because FOG membership funds support this system, a portion of it will be restricted to FOG members. Non members will be allowed to use the message system and user levels 0 thru 3. Members have access up to user level 8. Xmodem (for downloading files) has a 30 minute maximum on it. This is because we do not yet have a clock installed on the system and some users were abusing the system by downloading very large libraries. All of the FOG library disks are on this system. All library disks will be consilidated into .LBR files. For more information, use the command: HELP XMODEM If you are using 1200 baud, you will be able to download the entire "disk" (actually a .LBR file). If you are using 300 baud, this option will not be available to you. You will need to download individual files. Use the XMODEM L librname.LBR filename.typ command. (replace the LIBRNAME with the actual name of the .LBR file (APP#022 for example) and the filename.typ with the actual name of the file you want to download. For assistance with the use of this system, type the word: HELP when you first Jump to CP/M. If you are already on the system when you need help, you should first type: SECTION HELP.PUB before calling on the HELP files. This system has been completely reworked over the last several months. Non members have access to more areas and there are now subject sections such as UTILITY.PUB (for handy utility programs), GAMES.PUB (for games which should work on most systems), LOBOMAX.PUB (for programs which only work on the LoboMax), and so on. Use the SECTION command to get a list of available sections. You should use this command to move around any of the FOG systems since not all systems are set up quite the same way. Type SECTION for more info. Another good command for moving around is the LOG command. Type LOG for more information. To find a specific file (for example, all of the WordStar patch files) just type: FIND WS*.* Replace the WS*.* with the filename you are seeking. You should also check out the special version of the SRX catalog program which is now on the section LIBRARY.FOG.
