
WinCenter Connect 3.0 patch for NIS

The WinCenter Connect 3.0 patch, nis3040.exe, updates WinCenter Connect NIS to 
version 3.0.40. This patch contains 3 files, ncdgina.dll, nisconf.exe and 
readme.txt (this file).


To install this patch:

1> Extract the 3 files by executing the file nis3040.exe.
2> In the %systemroot%/system32 directory, rename the files ncdgina.dll and 
   nisconf.exe to new names.
3> Copy the ncdgina.dll and nisconf.exe files extracted in step 1 to the 
   %systemroot%/system32 directory.

The patch is now installed.

        domains in the drop-down menu.
 09624  NIS groups allow mapping to NT group "BLANK"

        user's home directory isn't created if it doesn't exist.
 09726  When NIS is enabled and WinCenter server is a
        member of a workgroup, login screen shows
        workgroup name in the domain list
 09731  home directory isn't created through the NIS
        "connect to"
 09755  with NIS enabled, accounts created from user
        manager log an error to event log saying ypmatch
        failed.
 09777  NIS automount needs to ignore or parse out NFS mount
        options
 09779  NIS automounter does not search by /username in test
        and actual automount process.  It uses a path stated
        the password database.
 09786  Using "broadcast" in NIS Conf tool causes a GPF.
 09788  login dialogue takes around 5 seconds longer to
        appear on the splash screen than it did in
        3.0.31/34.
 09813  If password aging is enabled on NIS system, user
        password authentication fails.
 09824  When logging into NIS account on a WinCenter Server,
        and "Account Lockout" is enabled, the NIS account will
        not lockout.
 09843  Users can't be restrained from logging in locally to a
        WC server.
