Expanded Connectivity and Broader Hardware/Software Support

   NETWORLD + INTEROP, ATLANTA, GA -- SEPTEMBER 12, 1994 --
CitrixTM Systems, Inc. today announced TCP/IP for WinViewTM
version 1.0 and WinView for Networks version 2.3. TCP/IP for
WinView is add-on software that supplies full TCP/IP support for
WinView application server software, providing customers with a
complete and easy way to integrate WinView for Networks into
TCP/IP networks. WinView for Networks version 2.3 is a major
upgrade that includes many new features and enhancements in the
areas of usability, security, connectivity, and broader
hardware/software support.

Citrix also announced today a broad initiative with FTP
Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTPS) to deliver a new generation of
Windows capabilities for Internet service publishers and users.
WinView for Networks application servers will form the backbone
for a new era of interactive Windows-based Internet services.
WinView for Networks version 2.3 and TCP/IP for WinView comprise
the first solution available that enable Internet publishers to
deliver interactive Windows services, using off-the-shelf Windows
applications and development tools. Please see separate press
release for more details on the new Internet capabilities
provided by WinView.

"This release directly addresses our customers' needs for a
robust, reliable, secure and manageable remote computing solution
for heterogeneous TCP/IP environments," said Edward Iacobucci,
founder and chairman of Citrix Systems, Inc. "TCP/IP for WinView
gives our customers complete support for Windows, DOS and OS/2-
text TCP/IP applications and integrates seamlessly into existing
TCP/IP networks, requiring minimal client integration. WinView
for Networks version 2.3 and TCP/IP for WinView will
revolutionize commercial Internet communications and open a whole
new world of other remote opportunities across TCP/IP networks,
which are expected to comprise 26 percent of the world's PCs by
1997."

The TCP/IP for WinView option extends the many benefits of
WinView to TCP/IP environments. Now, multiple users can
simultaneously dial into a WinView server to access and run
Windows and DOS TCP/IP applications with excellent performance,
regardless of the type of PC workstation used or whether they are
accessing the network from a local or remote location. TCP/IP for
WinView must be used in conjunction with WinView version 2.3.

WinView for Networks version 2.3 and its TCP/IP for WinView
option plug easily into existing TCP/IP networks, providing
access to Windows, DOS and OS/2-text applications that require
TCP/IP database servers and Unix hosts. This allows LAN-based and
remote users to connect directly to a WinView server using iplink
-- a WinView client program that runs over TCP/IP -- to run
Windows, DOS and OS/2-text TCP/IP applications, such as databases
and custom corporate applications, with excellent performance.
WinView also supplies wide-area networks running the efficient
TCP/IP protocol with superb performance and reduced overhead.

TCP/IP for WinView offers simplified TCP/IP client
integration. Clients connected to a TCP/IP-based network can use
their existing TCP/IP protocol stack to run the WinView TCP/IP
client program without having to perform a specific setup, saving
time and money on integration services. TCP/IP for WinView offers
complete application (API) support for TCP/IP services, including
the Winsock, Virtual Device Driver (VDD) and Native Stack
interfaces, which are necessary to run Windows, DOS and OS/2-text
applications. It also includes a comprehensive set of
administrative utilities for file transfer, remote login, remote
execution, user and network support, configuration, and testing.

In addition to TCP/IP support, WinView for Networks version
2.3 includes many new enhancements in the areas of usability,
security, connectivity, and broader hardware/software support.
New base features of WinView for Networks version 2.3 include:
Enhanced remote workstation printing. Up to three
printers can be connected to the parallel or serial ports
of a remote client PC. WinView also ensures completion of
remote print jobs, even if a remote PC loses its
       connection.
Easy replication of WinView installation and
       configuration information. Specific configuration details
of an initial WinView installation and customization
process are captured and can be used to automatically
install and customize additional WinView servers.

New user accounting module. All user activities --
including logon/logoff times as well as session
connect/disconnect events -- are captured and recorded in
an ASCII file, which can be used for automatic billing of
       time by consultants.
Transparent multi-session NetWare shell support. VSHELL
and NETX now exhibit seamless behavior, allowing users
familiar with NETX to transparently switch to VSHELL
without changing procedures or login scripts. (VSHELL is
a multitasking NetWare shell that allows multiple DOS
sessions to run using a single NetWare connection.)
Enhanced password security. Users may be required to
enter their password every time they log into a WinView
server, even if passwords are stored at the workstation
for automatic login. Users are also notified when it is
time to change their passwords, based on a registered
       Novell password life.
Restricted file server login. Users may be required to
always login to a specific file server for even tighter
security, which can help provide remote LAN access to a
       specific department.
Logon sequence encryption. All data going across the wire
from the client to the host during the login process is
now encrypted. This facilitates secure transportation of
user names and passwords over phone lines and across the
Internet, making WinView ideally suited for banking
       transactions.
ISDN wide-area network connectivity. WinView is
compatible with Gandalf ISDN products, supplying remote
users with high-speed access across wide-area ISDN lines.
WinView reduces the amount of data traveling over wide-
area networks, eliminating bottlenecks and improving
       performance.
Macintosh support for DOS applications. A Macintosh with
version 4.05 of RunPC for the Macintosh software from
Argosy Software can now dial into a WinView server and
access DOS and OS/2-text applications. RunPC is the first
Macintosh terminal emulator to implement the Citrix high-
       performance, distributed Windows ICATM protocol.

Xmodem/Ymodem file transfer support. These file transfer
protocols are now supported by WinView, allowing remote
users of standard communication packages to dial into a
WinView server and upload/download files without the need
to run the WinView remote link client program.
Expanded support for FDDI products. WinView supports high-
speed backbone connectivity through several FDDI network
interface cards from 3COM, Syskonnect and Madge.
