@chapter Modifications to TCP/IP Applications @label[chapter-tcp-app] @section FTP The most significant changes to the File Transfer Protocol are internal and not visible to the user. The command interface to FTP, formerly called @l(ftp:cmd), is now defined as @see[ftp:ftp][fun]. Various options have been modified and improved, and the interface is more robust. @section Telnet The Telnet routines (terminal access via TCP/IP) have been expanded and enhanced. See Section @ref[section-telnet], @b(@nameref[section-telnet]), for details. @section SMTP The SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server has not changed from release 3; see the @i[Release 3.0 TCP/IP Installation and Release Notes] for information and limitations. @section Imagen Printer Driver The networking and printer software now support Imagen laser printers that are accessed remotely via TCP/IP (Imagen model IP/II and compatibles). @cindex[Imagen printer] This is a popular printing setup, since much of the processing is done off-line by the Imagen. With release 4, the @l(:IMAGEN) driver is fully supported and much improved over previously distributed versions. See Section @ref[section-imagen], @b(@nameref[section-imagen]), for details. @section DISK Use of the TCP DISK Server is documented in Section @ref[section-disk], @nameref[section-disk]. @c end tcp-app1
